Tickets are now available for the Friends of the Olean Library, Incorporated’s “Read Between the Wines” Fundraising event.  The event takes place Friday, September 5, from 7-9:30, at the Library, 134 North 2nd Street.  A variety of wines, along with light appetizers will be on the menu, and guitarist Brian Lothridge will perform.  The night will also include basket raffles and other fundraisers.  Tickets are $25 each, or $45 per couple, and are available at the Olean Public Library.  There are special prices for Designated Drivers.

St. Bonaventure Parish in Allegany presents the Internationally Famous Celtic Pop-Rock group Ceili in concert on Friday, September 5, in the church parking lot.  Gates open at 5:15, with the concert starting at 6:00.  The Bossman BBQ Food Truck will be available for refreshments.  Bring your own chairs and blankets and enjoy the evening!  A free will donation will be collected.

The Allegany County Department of Public Works will hold its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, September 6, from 8-noon, at the Allegany County Landfill in Belmont.  Some of the most common items that will be accepted include Oil-based paints, pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals and cleaning chemicals.  Pre-registration is required, and space is limited.  To register, or for more information, contact Tim Palmiter, at (585) 268-7282.

Join the Trinity United Methodist Church as they celebrate their 100th Anniversary on the weekend of September 6-7.  Saturday, September 6 is a Family Fun Day, featuring kids games, great food and drink, a Basket Bonanza and a Bake Sale…the fun starts at 10:00am.  Start Sunday, September with the 100th Anniversary Service at 10:00, which will be followed with a Pig Roast and Potluck Dinner.  For more information, contact the Church Office, at (716)372-5067.  The Church is located at 131 North 9th Street, in Olean.

The Great Valley Community Church will hold a free Community Picnic on Wednesday, September 10, from 4-7pm, at the Church on Route 219.  The picnic will include basket raffles, with free hot dogs and hamburgers…and feel free to bring a dish to pass.

The Cuba American Legion Post 655 serves up a Beef of Weck Dinner on Wednesday, September 10, from 4:30-6:30pm…the dinner includes Beef on Weck, Salt Potatoes, Pasta Salad and Dessert.  Dine in, or take-outs are available.
