The City of Olean Youth Bureau and Recreation Department’s Lincoln Park Summer Concert Series runs through Thursday, September 11. Most of the concerts take place at the Lincoln Park Gazebo, but there are a few concerts scheduled for Oak Hill Park. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Ellicottville will serve up a Carson’s Chicken BBQ on Friday, August 29, serving chicken at their location from 11:30-5:00, or until sold out. You get a half-chicken and two sides for $18(cash only). Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the church’s parking lot project.

A Benefit Slow-Pitch Softball Game is being organized in Salamanca, to honor the late softball legend Howard Redeye, who played in the 80’s and 90’s. The organizers are particularly seeking former teammates of Mr. Redeye. The date of the game is set for Saturday, August 30. The Pfeiffer Nature Center will hold a couple of special nature walks on August 29-30. On Friday, August 29, join AKT Combative Academy for a self-defense nature walk seminar. The walk takes place from 6-8pm at the Nature Center’s Pavillion. On Saturday, August 30, join Royal Fern Nursury, LLC for a guided nature walk and native plant sale, which runs from 2-5pm.
