Registration for the 29th annual HomeCare & Hospice Hope:  Walk, Run & BIke is now underway.  The event will take place Wednesday, May 14, with Olean’s Lincoln Park as the headquarters.  The walk is a 2.34 mile route, the run is a 5k, and the bike route covers 8.38 miles.  You can register online at: www.oleanhospice.itsyourrace.com.  Registration is 35 dollars…the fee also gets you an official event baseball cap, a charcuterie-inspired race snack pack, and something to ‘wet your whistle’ at the end of your event.  HomeCare and Hospice is also seeking volunteers to help the day of the event…for more information, contact HomeCare & Hospice at (716)372-2106.

Cuba American Legion Post #655 serves up a Lasagna Dinner on Wednesday, May 14, from 4:30-6:30…Dine in, or take-outs are available.

The Allegany County Youth and Family Resource Fair is set to take place on Thursday, May 15th, from 9-noon, at the Cuba VFW Reception Hall on Route 305.  This is an event for families and staff who work with youth ages 0-21…you can meet local providers to find out what their services entail…there’s also a car seat safety check, and agency giveaways…the event is sponsored by Ardent Solutions, Bright Start Connect, Fidelis Care and Accord.  For tabling information, contact Michelle, at (845)709-0047.

The Allegany County Firemen’s Auxiliary will meet on Thursday, May 15, at the Duke Hose Company, on Stevens Street in Wellsville.  The meeting starts at 6:30 with a Tureen Dinner…please bring a dish to pass and your own table service.  This meeting will include the election of officers for the year.

May is Mental Health Month…several local organizations invite the public to a Veteran and Community Wellness Fair, taking place Friday, May 16, from 11am-2pm.  The fair takes place at Jamestown Community College’s Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean.  The fair includes Wellness Checks, Veteran resources, Caregiver resources, even free hair cuts.  The Fair is sponsored by JCC, the Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Support Project, Directions In Independent Living, the St. Bonaventure University Veterans Services, and the Veterans Crisis Line.
